If you are a paddler
or are interested in becoming a paddler, the IDBA is pleased
to offer three different racing programs for the community.
- The Youth Dragon Boat Racing Program is IDBA's pet
project. With aspirations to implement a full fledged after
school program, this youth program provides young people with
a healthy after school activity that is both fun and recreational.
It is also designed to provides youth with an opportunity to
develop their leadership and teamwork skills, to develop an
appreciation and respect for the marine environment, and to
develop a better sense of the global community (dragon boating
is an international sport).
- California International Dragon Boat Festival is IDBA's
signature annual event. This weekend festival celebration revolves
around the dragon boat racing regatta. Organize your own team
of family and friends, neighborhoods, employees and classmates
to compete in this exciting event. More information on this

to your right. NOTICE: THERE WILL BE NO ANNUAL FESTIVAL THIS YEAR! THE 8TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL WILL BE NEXT YEAR ON AUGUST 13-14, 2005
- The Adult
Dragon Boat Program is the year round paddling
club. It enables adults to paddle by registering a team and paying for coached sessions (e.g., 8 sessions for $1000/team) or by renting the boats/equipment (e.g., $75/hour).
Practices schedules, rates and terms to be finalized after team is registered. This program is designed to provide local teams opportunity to practice and to get their team ready for season's racing schedule.
